Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
Sounding the Seventh Trumpet is the debut album by Avenged Sevenfold, released in 2001 on Good Life Recordings, and subsequently re-released by Hopeless Records on March 19, 2002, featuring slightly different cover art. The reissue also added the track "To End the Rapture (Heavy Metal Version)", which was previously only found on the Warmness on the Soul EP, and featured the band's new guitarist, Synyster Gates, who would go on to appear on every other Avenged Sevenfold release. As of 2008 Sounding the Seventh Trumpet has sold 200,000 copies worldwide. The album was released when the band members were 18 years old.[1]

Death of Jimmy Sullivan

I don’t know how to start this or know where to begin. First I would like to thank all the fans for their support through the passing of Jimmy. It has been comforting to see his fans, our fans, and everyone in general give their support. Jimmy was my best friend, as he was best friends with many other people including the members of Avenged Sevenfold. He was hands down the greatest person I have ever known. I told him I loved him everyday [sic]. He demanded your love and was never afraid to give it back. I have walked side by side with Jimmy, everyday [sic], for the last 18 years of my life. I have no memories before Jimmy, and it’s going to be damn hard to move forward without him here. It still doesn’t seem real. He was my best friend, songwriting partner, band mate, confidant, and most importantly, he was my brother. The crazy thing about Jimmy was that everyday [sic] was a crazy story. We have told our favorite Jimmy stories for the last 2 weeks and never have we repeated ourselves. This guy was magical. The out pour of art from his soul was unlike the world has ever seen. Unless you spent a day with Jimmy, or 18 years, it’s impossible to explain, so I’m not going to try. He inspired people in different ways. He wasn’t just a drummer, he honestly didn’t care so much for the technical side of drums, cause he could play anything he wanted. He was all about creating beautiful songs, original fills and hopefully touching people with his art and mind. He told all of us for years, including his parents, that he knew two things in life. He wanted to be a rockstar, and that he wasn’t going to live past 30 years old. He was right on both accounts, but I know Jimmy, and if he knew how much pain this would cause for the ones he left behind, he would have done anything he could to stick around a little longer. Jimmy gave so much and in the end it was his time to go. All my reasons for wanting him to stay are selfish and I know he is in a better place then this, so in a way I’m joyful that my best friend is now at peace. He made it to the other side first and I can’t wait to hang with him again. I have so much to say but can’t find the words so I will wait until time can allow me to find a way to express myself. As for the rest of us, it has become clear what we need to do. We had just finished writing a record with Jimmy. I can’t promise what the future holds because right now it’s too painful to think about, but we know we need to record and put out this record in honor of Jimmy, for Jimmy. He would call me every night to talk about songs and tell me “this shit is gonna change the world.” I agreed with him, unfortunately I didn’t know it would be on these terms. Please be patient with us for we cannot imagine how hard this is gonna be to get through, we just know we have to do it for his legacy. After that, who knows? But I know Jimmy will help us make that decision when the time comes. I love you Jimmy and I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have known you and spent 18 years of my life with you. Rest in Peace my friend.
Early Life
Sanders used to play the piano before he became a member his first band, Successful Failure. When he was growing up, he favorited punk rock bands such as H2O and The Misfits and got into the scene when his father bought him Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses after he had seen them on MTV's Headbanger's Ball.
In following years, Shadows formed a number of bands with Avenged Sevenfold's rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance. Vengeance was previously a member of a punk rock group called MPA. While Shadows was in the previously mentioned "Successful Failure", The Rev was slotted to play drums (but was admittedly too good).[2] While in this band he penned the song "Streets," which would later be recorded after Avenged Sevenfold was formed, and released on the first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. The album was a mix of metalcore and punk rock but also includes a softer, more ballad-like song (Warmness On The Soul). Sounding the Seventh Trumpet was first recorded and produced while Shadows and the rest of Avenged Sevenfold were still in high school.
Vocal style
In the band's debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, M. Shadows' vocals had a heavy metalcore influence and consisted mostly of screamed vocals. This style gradually decreased in later albums into more conventional clean singing and had been almost completely abandoned by the release of City of Evil, the band's major label debut. After the release of City of Evil a rumor had developed stating that the reason why M. Shadows dropped the screaming was either due to blowing a blood vessel or ripping a vocal cord in the back of his throat. However, this is not true. Despite having admitted minor throat surgery this was not a cause for the change and in an interview on All Excess, manager Larry Jacobson states that Shadows had decided two years before the making of City of Evil that it would be an all singing album. He had made it clear to their producer, Andrew Murdock, that the album they were working on at the time Waking the Fallen would be half singing and half screaming, and that the next would be all singing. In the past Shadows would sing on all parts of the songs during live performances, supporting the theory that he was no longer able to scream or growl. Perhaps becoming fed up with those claims, Shadows has resumed screaming again during live shows, this can be seen in the band's new live DVD "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough" In almost all of the songs in the DVD, he does a 5 to 7 second long scream, and does some screaming vocals for Second Heartbeat and Unholy Confessions. In 2009, Shadows continued screaming when Avenged Sevenfold had performed songs from Waking the Fallen, such as Eternal Rest and Chapter Four, at the "Rock on the Range" and "Sonisphere" live shows. Biography Zacky Vengeance
In high school, Zachary attended Huntington Beach High School. Baker came up with his stage name "Zacky Vengeance" because he wanted to get back at all the people whom doubted his success . He also came up with Johnny's stage name "Johnny Christ" because he said it was suiting for him.
In the Avenged Sevenfold DVD All Excess he recalls that before Avenged Sevenfold, he was in a punk band called MPA*, which stands for Mad Porno Action. He implies that they were not successful. He and M. Shadows formed Avenged Sevenfold. He taught himself how to play the guitar when he was thirteen. Zacky was also responsible for the creation of the acronym "A7X".[1]
Despite being left-handed, he recalls the first guitar he learned on was actually a right-handed his parents had bought him for his thirteenth birthday. He learned by playing upside-down, watching his favorite bands and other people he knew who played and practiced as much as he could. He would also read each edition of Guitar World cover to cover, learning the tabs of the songs published in there and watching the professionals perform it until he got it right. His influences in his style are Rancid, Misfits and Bad Religion. Zacky's favorite bands also include Metallica, Misfits and Guns N Roses.
In high school he played baseball. He claims that if not for his music career, he would be a professional baseball player.
In 2003, Avenged Sevenfold came out with Waking the Fallen, which boosted A7X fan levels up. Avenged Sevenfold hit the jackpot in 2005 when their Platinum selling album, City of Evil came out featuring songs such as, Beast and the Harlot, Bat Country, and Seize the Day.
In 2007, Avenged Sevenfold self-produced their Self Titled Album (Avenged Sevenfold). Featuring songs such as, Critical Acclaim, Scream, Afterlife, Almost Easy and A Little Piece of Heaven.
2008- Zacky and Avenged Sevenfold have announced that they will be back in the studio by July 2009. Zacky quotes, "After touring the world for pretty much two years straight, the stars aligned and have us finishing up in Southern California and Las Vegas. If I could offer one piece of inside info it would be that these shows are the ones to see. We will be celebrating a very successful run and 10 years of madness that all started in the great state of California (though our friends in Las Vegas know how to throw a party so we can’t leave them out either)
Saul Hudson (born 23 July 1965), better known by his stage name Slash, is a British and American musician.[2] Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, England, he moved to Los Angeles, California as a child, where he began his career in the music industry. Slash is best-known as the former lead guitarist of hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he performed and recorded between 1985 and 1996. He later formed the eponymous Slash's Snakepit and co-founded Velvet Revolver with his former bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. His debut solo album, Slash, is due to be released in 2010. In August 2009, Time Magazine named him #2 on its list of the 10 Best Electric Guitar Players of All-Time.[3]

Avenged Sevenfold
Brian joined Avenged Sevenfold when he was 18 at the end of 1999, right before the recording of the band's first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. He was featured on their EP, "Warmness on the Soul", and on the reissue of their first album.
In the Avenged Sevenfold DVD All Excess, to emphasize the seemingly random placing of names, Brian stated that his name was thought of on a drunken drive through the park with The Rev. Also, his band members claim that he originally thought that he was too good to play for the band. He corrects them by saying he said no such thing.
He has won numerous awards, including the "Young Shredder" award of the year in the Metal Hammer awards in 2006 and the "Guitarist of the Year" Award for Total Guitar Magazine in 2006.
Guitars
Brian endorses Schecter Guitars as is Zacky Vengeance. Currently, his signature model is available in two different versions. The "Schecter Synyster Custom" which has the exact specifications of the guitar that he plays live (excluding the sustainiac pick-up fitted models) and the more affordable "Schecter Synyster Standard" which offers lower quality pickups, a different neck joint, a different fretboard wood and tremolo system. Before the production of his signature model, he played guitars of various brands.

Brian has different variations of his signature model. The "First Synyster Custom" that he played lacks the gothic "SYN" inlay and the "Deathbat" on the 12th fret, instead the "Deathbat" is located on the headstock. His other customs models that are not available to the public follow suits. Currently he plays the model which is available to the public that has the gothic "SYN" inlay and the "Deathbat" on the 12th fret. He also plays a white with gold stripes "Synyster Custom" usually during performances of "Dear God". This guitar is available to the public, but production is limited to a few models. Recently, one or two of his signature model that he uses live has a custom "Sustainiac Stealth Pro" sustainer humbucker pick-up fitted for its neck position which he would usually activate during his solo performance. It also can be heard during the solo of the band's cover of 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath.

James Owen Sullivan, (10 Februari 1981 - 28 Desember 2009 ) lebih dikenal dengan nama panggung, The Rev, The Rev adalah drummer dan back-up vokalis untuk band Avenged Sevenfold, dan vokalis di avant-garde metal Pinkly Smooth dengan gitaris Avenged Sevenfold, Synyster Gates. Sullivan tinggal di Huntington Beach, California dan sudah menikah dengan Leana MacFadden Silver. Dia ditemukan tewas pada 28 Desember 2009, ia berusia 28 tahun.

Pengganti The Reverend
Penyebab kematian The Rev memang masih menjadi tanda tanya besar, namun soal penggantinya di A7X mulai menemui titik terang. Dikutip dari beberapa website, seorang drummer kelahiran Afrika Selatan, yaitu Cobus Potgieter siap menjadi drummer baru A7X. Dia adalah seorang drummer solo .Dia telah memainkan drum selama 6 tahun.saat ini umurnya 22 tahun. Permainan drumnya yang mengandalkan speed, teknik, dan groove sangat menawan dan mempesona, sehingga banyak yang menganggap dia lebih baik dari drummer +44, Travis Barker. Dalam bermain drum, Cobus banyak terinspirasi oleh Tony Royster Jr., Derico Watson, Carter Beauford, Travis Barker, Mike Portnoy, dan Thomas Lang. Namun, masih banyak yang meragukan dia bisa bermain sebaik The Rev karena umurnya yang masih muda dan belum pernah bermain untuk satu band pun. Namun, tak sedikit pula yang mendukung agar A7X mau menerimanya sebagia drummer baru mereka. Tetapi, keputusan akhir tetap ada di tangan Matt Shadow cs apkah mereka mau menerima dia sebagai drummer mereka atau menolaknya, atau mungkin justru mengambil keputusan yang jelas tidak diharapkan oleh para Sevenfoldism, yaitu bubar di tengah jalan seperti nasib Blink 182. Brian adalah anak pertama. Dia mempunyai adik bernama Brent, Johnny, dan McKenna. Ayahnya, Brian Elwin Haner Sr. (biasa dipanggil dengan nama Papa Gates), adalah seorang pelawak dan gitaris professional. Ibu kandungnya bernama Jan. Ibu tirinya, Suzy Haner, adalah seorang ahli hipnotis.
Orang tua Brian cerai ketika Brian berumur sepuluh tahun. Dua tahun kemudian, ayahnya menikah lagi dengan Suzy.
Brian mempunyai seorang pacar bernama Michelle DiBenedetto, saudara kembar dari tunangan M. Shadows, Valary DiBenedetto. Brian dan kekasihnya memelihara anjing yang diberi nama Pinkly.

Brian mendapatkan gitar pertamanya dari nenek dan kakeknya. Salah satu lagu pertama yang ia pelajari adalah lagu Stairway to Heaven karya Led Zeppelin. Ketika Brian duduk di kelas 6, ia sudah bisa menebak chord dari sebuah lagu hanya dengan menggunakan pendengarannya. Setelah Brian diberi gitar, dia mengatakan bahwa sekolah sudah tidak ada gunanya. Nilai bagus hanya dia peroleh sampai ia duduk di kelas 4.
Brian memasuki grup musik Avenged Sevenfold sebagai gitaris ketika ia berumur 18 tahun di akhir tahun 1999. Dia juga memainkan piano pada lagu "Beast and the Harlot" dan "Sidewinder".

Pada masa kecilnya, Matt seringkali dikeluarkan dari sekolahnya karena dia berkali-kali melakukan kekerasan. Sebelum bernyanyi, Matt bermain bass. dan 3 kali operasi karena pita suara nya putus Matt di fonis dokter tidak bisa bernyanyi namun kenyataan nya di dapat bernyanyi hingga sekarang.

Album Self-Titled Avenged Sevenfold Masuk Daftar Albums Of The Decade List
A7X kembali mendapatkan gelar prestisius kembali tahun ini. Album self-titled mereka masuk dalam daftar "Albums Of The Decade". Ini merupakan pelipur lara bagi A7X setelah kehilangan drummer mereka, The Rev. Berikut ini adalah kutipan pernyataan dari Thirteen Room : Avenged Sevenfold telah dikenal dalam musik Metalcore sejak sebelum mereka merilis album self-titled mereka. Namun, setelah merilis album self titled, mereka semakin dikenal publik. Kesuksesan album mereka itu tak lepas dari 4 single mereka sebelumnya dan penampilan mereka di panggung yang sangat memesona.
Bagi banyak penggemar musik metal di akhir tahun 2000, 'Avenged Sevenfold' memiliki benyak ciri khas yang tidak dmilik band metal lain . Album ini adalah album yang sangat menggambarkan kehidupan mereka selama ini. Hit single 'Afterlife' dan 'Critical Acclaim' meiiliki karakter musik rock dengan perpaduan riff berat. Mereka tak hanya membuat lagu metal saja,namun juga lagu-lagu slow seperti 'Dear God' yang easy listening. Lagu ini menceritakan tentang perjalanan hidup mereka yang berliku-liku dan penuh dengan tantangan Namun, ada pula orang yang meremehkan mereka karena gaya hidup mereka yang ekstrem dan gila.Namun, itu tidak membuat mereka ciut nyali, bahkan mereka lebih bersemangat dalam menulis lagu hingga akhirnya lagu-lagu mereka dapat dikenal dan disukai oleh banyak orang.
